Night at the Races

A charity race night was given some added spice after organisers introduced an Indian theme to the event.

The event was organised by Kuljeet and Kiran Sapra, parents of Arvir born at 23 weeks weighed 580g, (1lb and 5oz).  He spent 4 months in hospital with numerous operations and procedures before coming home.

Mr Sapra said "I would like to take this opportunity to thank the nurses, and doctors amongst us and that aren’t present today for the fantastic job that they do, it is because of you that families likes us are able to get to reach the other end of such a difficult journey.

It is our pleasure to be able to work with the Grace Research Team so that we can help make a difference to the wellbeing and health of premature babies and their families.

Again from my wife Kiran and I and my family and all at the Grace Research Fund I would like to thank everyone for supporting us and attending today."

Financial experts Harrison Beale and Owen, which has offices in Leamington and Coventry, supported a race night which raised over £7,500 for premature baby charity The Grace Research Fund.

Around 160 people attended the black tie event.  Guests were welcomed by hollywood tunes played by Alison Noonan on the electric cello and a champagne and canapé reception, followed by a five-course Indian banquet and a disco at the Ricoh Arena.

Alongside the horse races there was the popular experience tree and a £20 note raffle which raised £1500 thanks to kind donations from local businesses, Beef restaurant in Kenilworth, the Leamington Wine Co, Indigo hairdressers. The Spa an also the Assembly in Leamington Spa to name but a few.
